i'm not sure if i'm posting in the right place, but when i try opening a project with xcode, it gives me different options than other people. Instead of being able to open the cocoa touch application, it has 6 different options, which are navigation-based application, OpenGL ES Application, Tab Bar Application, Utility Application, View-Based Application, and Window-based application. Everyone else used the cocoa touch application, and the tutorials use it too... and i want to try out some tutorials. So, somebody, please help me!

Be sure you download the iphone SDK from http://developer.apple.com

The version of Xcode that comes with Mac OS doesn't have the cocoa touch projects by default.
